November 15, 2023 6:30PM- 8:00PM Sts. Joseph and Francis Xavier Church, 808 Linden Ave., Wilmette, Ill. A Conversation with Meg Kissinger, Author of While You Were Out: An Intimate Family Portrait of Mental Illness in an Era of Silence. Wilmette native and award-winning journalist, Meg Kissinger returns to her childhood parish to discuss how the church can help families struggling with mental illness. With representatives from the Archdiocese’s LOSS program and National Alliance on Mental Illness. On Saturday, September 30, and on Sunday, October 1, the St. Vincent de Paul, Saints Joseph and Francis Xavier Conference will hold a Clothing and Household Goods Donation Drive from 1 to 3:30 pm in the St. Joseph Church parking lot. Drivers can pull into the lot from Lake Avenue and our volunteers will take the donations and put them into trucks.
Please bring bags or boxes of clothing and household goods such as pots and pans, plates, glasses, silverware and small appliances like toasters and blenders. (Sorry, we will not be able to accept furniture at this event.) Please help us to help others! Donate to our September 30-October 1 Donation Drive and consider joining our team to staff our call line, create sack meals for those without enough to eat, and assist people struggling to care for themselves and their families.
