Saints JFX parishioners are disciples in action, serving in ministries throughout the Archdiocese and beyond. We believe that a vibrant life of faith and worship always results in service and that, in turn, service always nourishes our faith.

Regional Service Opportunities
Ministries to Persons with Disabilities
The Archdiocese has ministries for persons with disabilities including the deaf, people with mental illness, and other disabilities. Special Religious Development (SPRED)
Saints JFX is proud to host a regional site for SPRED, which offers the opportunity for people with developmental disabilities to engage in religious formation. Special Religious Development (SPRED) is a program to bring all persons with developmental disabilities into full membership in the parish. A community of adult believers gathers to welcome those with developmental disabilities and to grow in faith with them as preparation for their participation in the worship experiences of the parish community. SPRED communities are formed in age groups: children 6-10, 11-16, 17-21 and adults. Saints JFX hosts a group for children 11–16 with a leader catechist, an activity catechist, and six adult catechists, each of whom has a young friend. L.O.S.S. seeks to offer a safe, non-judgmental space and support group for those who are grieving the loss of a family member or close friend to suicide. Holbrook Counseling Center

Catholic Charities Addiction Counseling and Education Services is a licensed provider of services for people struggling with addictions. Archdiocese of Chicago Domestic Violence Outreach
The Domestic Violence Outreach ministry of the Archdiocese of Chicago is aimed at providing awareness, services, and prevention around domestic violence. Asian Catholic Initiative
The Asian Catholic Initiative provides connections and resources for Asian and Asian American Catholics within the Archdiocese. Black Catholic Initiative
The Black Catholic Initiative provides connections and resources for Black Catholics within the Archdiocese. Kolbe House Jail Ministry
Kolbe House Jail Ministry is the Archdiocese of Chicago’s ministry to the incarcerated, who take Jesus’s words “I was in jail and you visited me” as their inspiration. Volunteers are needed in a variety of roles, including to facilitate in-jail prayer services and discussions, in-jail facilitation of a development program, telephone ministry with individuals on house arrest, food pantry manager, and summer re-entry ministry.
