Assisting individuals and families in financial or personal crisis is the Society of St. Vincent de Paul’s number one mission. We provide financial and other kinds of help, as well as offering one-on-one supportive communication.  We strive to resolve challenges while preserving the dignity and confidentiality of those in need.  Our goal is to assist clients so that they may get "back on their own feet".
 
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a global network of organizations comprised of lay disciples dedicated to serving those in need and creating a more just world.  In Wilmette, our volunteers serve in a variety of ways, including:
​

• Creating sack lunches for the homeless and food pantries/shelters with Uncle Pete’s Ministries.
• Supporting Pack the Plan to Ukraine – sending medical and humanitarian supplies to war victims.
• Assembling/donating dignity kits for released inmates from the Department of Corrections in Cook County, holding a seasonal clothing drive for newly released inmates in the winter and fall.
• Providing food for St. Thomas of Canterbury and other food pantries.
• Monitoring messages on our hotline, responding to callers in crisis, and providing resources and referrals.
• Staffing Donation Drives for clothing and household goods.
• Delivering flowers to the homebound during the holidays.

We nourish our faith by serving others.  Come be a part of this crucial mission.
