Pope Francis announced the year of "St. Joseph" in honor of the 150 year anniversary of the Saint's proclamation as the patron of the Universal Church. The year begins Dec 8th, 2020 and ends Dec 8, 2021, according to a decree by the Pope. The decree states that Pope Francis established a "year of St. Joseph" so that every member of the faithful, following the Saint's example, may strengthen their life of faith daily in the complete fulfillment of God's will.
ACTION stands for "As Christ Together in Other's Needs". ACTION is a youth group geared towards teens who are comfortable attending a youth focused Mass (Sunday evenings at 7:30pm) without their parents. ACTION also includes various guest speakers and outings, however, these are currently postponed due to COVID-19 restrictions. Grab'n Go snacks are also suspended.
Ministries are facing a great challenge during this time of uncertainty. One thing that remains certain is that teenagers need to hear the hope of the gospel, be disciples, and experience a strong Christian community. ACTION is a unique and fun way to stay connected with fellow teens from different high schools in the area and grow in faith.
For more information about ACTION, click Here. Note that ACTION Masses end on April 25th for the 2020-21 school year and will start up again in September.
