CONTINUING EDUCATION FOR ADULTS
We often do not imagine Jesus as someone who himself experienced profound sorrow. When he prays in the Garden of Gethsemane, his prayer echoes and carries with it the sorrow felt by all peoples in agony. This holy Lenten season, let us consider where we feel sorrowful, where in our own lives we might be “in agony,” and how Jesus’ Passion invites us to surrender to a love that conquers even death itself, the very love of God. In this 5-week series, you will: • Develop an understanding of Jesus through examination of particular Old and New Testament texts, which illuminate his life and teaching! • Explore both classic and modern understandings of Christian “Atonement,” that is, how and why we believe Jesus’ death on the cross, specifically, effects salvation for all. • Cultivate and nurture personal relationship with Jesus by engaging in rich, meaningful discussion! Meet on-line via Zoom, 2 hours per week, 5 weeks in a row March 7th – April 7th Monday Evenings | 6:30 – 8:30pm OR Thursday Mornings| 10am – 12pm Open PDF for complete detail Click to Register Comments are closed.
