Share Our Gifts with Tax Credit Scholarships “Our relationship with St. Thomas offers Saints JFX parishioner's incredible opportunities to live their discipleship…We are one body of Christ and one church, no matter what the ZIP Code.” - Saints Joseph and Francis Xavier Sharing Parish Commitment Illinois’ bipartisan Invest in Kids Act Tax Credit Scholarship Program provides need-based scholarships for students to attend K-12 private schools, like our sharing parish partner St. Thomas of Canterbury. Donors who give through our scholarship granting partner Empower Illinois in support of these scholarships receive a 75% state income tax credit on their gift and can direct their donation to St. Thomas of Canterbury. And there has never been a better time to take advantage of the Tax Credit Scholarship Program. A generous group of parishioners have pledged gifts for a Cornerstone Match to help clear the waitlist of students eligible for tax credit scholarships at St. Thomas of Canterbury School. Gifts made to St. Thomas of Canterbury through the Share Our Gifts campaign will be matched $1 for $1 to clear the waitlist of students, which means that for every dollar you donate an additional dollar will be donated to St. Thomas of Canterbury, our Sharing Parish School. But we must act fast! The matching gift program will only last through June, or until matching funds are depleted. With this match, if you make a $3,000 tax credit scholarship gift: • You earn a $2,250 state tax credit • You are only out of pocket $750 • Your donation will be matched ($1 to $1) to become $6,000 • You fund a FULL scholarship for a child in need Please consider giving a child the gift of a quality education this year.
